re-designed...
The F.E. Myers Company (Div. of Pentair) manufactures reciprocating
pumps that contain a pinion and ring gear supplied by Atlas Gear
Co since April 1998. With the previous gear vendor we were experiencing
many failures of the pinion gear; resulting in significant warranty
costs.
With the help of Atlas Gear Co., the helical gear geometry was re-designed
and Atlas Gear Co. took responsibility for all the steps of gear
hobbing, heat-treating, shot-peening and quality control.
In the five years that F.E. Myers Co. has been using the gear set
from Atlas Gear Co. there has not been a single gear failure! Also,
the personnel at Atlas have always been responsive, resulting in
good communications between our two companies.
